The thing which prevent any suitable candidate from being in a position as this one.

Right wing is still there to make a change in elections against Likud and it's So hard for elections to have right wing with United Arab parties. Also, ultra-Orthodox parties and the new alliance are so so much hard than candidates for Likud and everything is a mess for a Democratic election.
